| 1 |
pound Florida shrimp, peeled and deveined |
| 1/4 |
cup green onions |
| 1/2 |
cup orange juice |
| 3 |
cloves garlic |
| 1/3 |
cup soy sauce |
| 1 1/2 |
tablespoons fresh ginger |
| 1/4 |
cup sherry |
| 2-3 |
carambolas, sliced |
| 2 |
tablespoons sugar |
| 1 |
tablespoon cornstarch |
| 1 |
tablespoon butter |

| Preparation |
| Combine orange juice, soy sauce, sherry, sugar,
green onion, garlic and ginger in a
blender and process. Marinate the shrimp in the sauce for 1-2
hours. Strain the marinade
from shrimp and reserve. Thread shrimp and carambola on skewers.
Grill or pan fry 2-3
minutes or until opaque in center. Combine cornstarch and the
reserved marinade; mix
well and bring to a boil. Add butter and remove from heat.
Serve sauce over shrimp
kabobs.
