Enjoy Florida Wild-Caught Shrimp At The 2006 Epcot International Food And Wine Festival

Wild-Caught Florida Shrimp Kiosk at Epcot

Visit the “Fresh from Florida” kiosk and experience one of the tasty wild-caught Florida shrimp dishes being served at the 11th annual Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. The festival runs from September 29 to November 12, 2006, and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is participating for the fifth straight year.

The “Fresh from Florida” kiosk is prominently placed on the Epcot promenade between Mexico and the entrance to the world showcase. The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is one of the largest gatherings of domestic and international visitors in the United States with over 1 million guests at the 2005 festival. Florida residents accounted for one-third of the festival-goers.

For a memorable experience, participate in one of the free Florida seafood culinary demonstrations at “Odyssey – The Chef’s Showplace.” These free demonstrations will be held October 19-28. Check your festival guide for specific dates and times to enjoy more Florida seafood. Arrive at Odyssey early as entry is first come, first served.

Florida wild-caught shrimp is available fresh year-round. Since shrimp is the most popular and valuable seafood in the United States, it is good to know that it is also a naturally renewable and sustainable resource. There are five species of wild-caught Florida shrimp harvested in the Gulf of Mexico and South Atlantic waters.
