GO NATIVE!
Information For Restaurants and Retailers
Increase Florida seafood sales! GO NATIVE! Eat Florida Seafood is a free awareness campaign created to help restaurants and retailers increase Florida seafood sales. The program is designed to bring consumer attention to the availability of Florida’s native seafood at restaurants and retailers.
Give them what they want! Recent studies show that consumers prefer fresh, local foods from close-to-home culinary sources. The key attribute that consumers look for is freshness and offering locally produced seafood is the most effective way to meet their needs.
Let them know! With all the recent news surrounding deceptive seafood identification, the Department believes GO NATIVE! will ease consumers’ concerns regarding mislabeling by clearly identifying Florida seafood in restaurants and markets.
Promote your business! The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) will promote the GO NATIVE! program in a variety of multimedia formats. Promotional display items are supplied, free of charge, to restaurants and retailers that want to participate in GO NATIVE! Restaurants and retail markets will gain free publicity, increase customer loyalty and a larger customer base just by proudly displaying the free GO NATIVE! promotional materials. The GO NATIVE! logo will spark curiosity among your patrons and give your staff the chance to explain the program and the importance of “going native” by eating seafood caught locally.
It’s all free! The only requirements to participate are that you sell Florida seafood and prominently display the free promotional materials. The promotional materials include colorful table/counter tents, brochures, entrée/product flags, menu stickers, staff buttons, posters and window decals. T-shirts may also be purchased from this website.
