Advertising Incentive Program
Florida Spiny Lobster and Stone Crab
The Florida Spiny Lobster and Stone Crab Advertising Incentive Program is an opportunity for participating independent Florida retailers and restaurants to offset a portion of newspaper and magazine advertising costs. This program is administered by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS), Bureau of Seafood and Aquaculture Marketing, and is made possible by funding from a portion of the Saltwater Products License fees.
Logo Incentive Award Opportunity
Receive reimbursement for 50 percent of Florida spiny lobster and stone crab product newspaper and magazine advertising expense, not to exceed $750, between October 1, 2009, and December 31, 2009. This is a first-come-first-served opportunity. Awards will be paid to qualified entries as long as budgeted monies are available. Media brokers and advertising third parties are not eligible to participate and cannot use this program as a selling tool.
To Qualify for Participation
The company must be an independent Florida retailer or restaurant company with no more than three stores.
The company must be a member of the Florida Agricultural Promotional Campaign (FAPC) prior to placing any advertisement under this program. For information about FAPC membership, call (850) 488-0163, or submit the FAPC online application, or print out the FAPC printed application form and submit it by mail.
The company must be a registered vendor with the State of Florida prior to placing any advertisement under this program. To register as a State of Florida vendor, go to the MyFloridaMarketplace web site.
The company must notify the Bureau of Seafood and Aquaculture Marketing of its intention to participate by completing and submitting the Spiny Lobster and Stone Crab Logo Incentive Application Form. FDACS will need this completed application to issue the company a purchase order prior to participation. The completed application can be faxed to (850) 922-3671 or mailed to:

The company must purchase Florida spiny lobster and/or stone crab and advertise these products using any of the following logos in the ads:
-- “Fresh from Florida”
-- “Ask for Fresh From Florida Seafood”
-- “From Florida Seafood”
-- “Go Native! Eat Florida Seafood”
These logos must be large enough in the ad to be recognizable and legible. Logos to be provided by FDACS.
The company must purchase Florida spiny lobster and/or stone crab and publish the advertisements between October 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009.
To Receive Reimbursement
The company must send invoices for logo incentive awards no later than January 15, 2010, to the Bureau of Seafood and Aquaculture Marketing, 2051 East Paul Dirac Drive, Tallahassee, Florida 32310.
All invoices must be accompanied by:
-- Proof of Florida spiny lobster and/or stone crab purchase.
-- Dated copies of each advertisement.
-- Dated copies of newspaper and/or magazine advertising invoices or receipts.
-- Percentage of Florida spiny lobster and/or stone crab sales increase (or decrease) from same time period one year prior.
